Turkish Eurovision singer Hadise: “I listen to Azerbaijani songs lovingly†– EXCLUSIVE – PHOTOSESSION
Hadise Achikgoz was born in settlement Mol near Anvers City, Belgium on October 22, 1985. Her family has Caucasian roots and is native of Turkey’s Sivas province. She appeared on the scene for the first time in 2003 during the Pop Idol musical contest on of the Belgian TV channels. Hadise did not win the contest, but received offers from a number of companies to release album later. She has worked in Turkey since 2006. She knows English, French, German and Flemish. Hadise refused an offer to represent Belgium at the Eurovision 2009. She will sing “Crazy for You†in English in May in Moscow.
-Are you going to visit Azerbaijan within the Eurovision 2009 promo-tours? What would you like to tell your fans in Azerbaijan?
-Of course, I would like to visit, because I was never in Azerbaijan. I would like to tell my fans in Azerbaijan that I am happy to receive pleasant messages from them via Internet. Thank you for your support.
-What is your target in the Eurovision 2009? Do you believe in your victory?
-My target is, of course, to win and to return with the prize, Inshaalah. But it is a contest in any case and we can’t say anything before. Everything is possible. It is important to me to attend the contest successfully and to develop my artistic skills.
- A number of experts predicted your victory in the contest. What do you think?
-I thank those people who write and say this. I am happy to read and to hear such things. It will be super to win, of course. I am waiting for votes from those, who like me, my song and my performance.
-What do you think, will the political reasons, closeness or neighbor relations have an impact on the results as it was in the pervious contests?
-I do not expect it. Voting system is different this year. I believe that it will have advantages.
-Do you know your rivals, i.e singers from 43 countries?
-I observe singers from all countries, but I do not know all of them. I did not know Aysel before, but now I observe her.
-Whom do you consider the strongest rival for you?
-Methinks, every song is very different. Therefore I do not want to speak about rivals. First of all I want my performance to be successful.
-There are many reports that the song “Crazy for you†is a plagiarism. Is it true? How did you choose the song? Who is the author of song?
-It is not true. The song “Crazy for you “is an original one. I chose the song easily. When I heard the song in the studio owned by Sinan Akchil, I felt that TRT TV Channel would choose this song. Sinan Akchil, Stephan Fernando and me wrote the words, Sinan Akchil composed it. We have prepared three songs for Eurovision Song Contest and chosen the song together with TRT. We have chosen the best song for Eurovision. It was the song “Crazy for youâ€.
-Have you information about Azerbaijani songs and music?
-I know Azerbaijani music and like to listen to them. I like performances of strong vocalists.
-Have you prepared clothes and dance for Moscow stage?
-I want my performance to be very energetic. Our song is very positive and dynamic. People want to dance while hearing it. I intend to move in the stage like it. I do not want to speak about dance and clothes a lot. I want to keep it secret …. Best regards to all of you!
