Roya: Though I was expelled from Baku State University on November 22, 2006, I was reinstated a month later

Chief of teaching department of Baku State University Ibad Ibadov told APA that Roya was expelled from the university on November 22, 2006, because she did not passed the exams and missed the sessions.
Lawyer of Baku State University Tofig Sadigov said at the preliminary court hearing on the lawsuit filed by correspondent of Bizim yol newspaper Natig Gulahmadoglu against Baku State University that Roya (Najafova Royala Yagub) was expelled from the university. Tofig Sadigov said Roya could not pass the exams of the winter session of 2005-2006 academic year and missed the summer session and was expelled from Baku State University under rector Abel Maharramov’s order dating to 22.11.2006.
On December 5, 2007 the singer told APA exclusively that she was transferred to Baku State University from Moscow State University.
“I entered Moscow State University legally, studied there for a year. As from the second year I have been continuing my education in Baku State University. The reports that I was admitted to Baku State University illegally are groundless. I am studying by correspondence,†she said.
On February 20, Abel Maharramov told journalists that Roya had studied economics and was getting her second education in the faculty of law.
“Her admission to Baku State University is not illegal, the singer it getting the second education in the faculty of law of Baku State University and admission to the university to get the second education is possible through internal test. Roya has the certificate of higher education and she was admitted to the university basing on this certificate. There is a competition, if the applicants are more than the vacancies,†he said.
