Court sends survey to Ministry of Taxes about tax debts of Independent Azerbaijan University

The trial of the rector of Independent Azerbaijan University (IAU) Abbas Mustafayev, accountant Esmira Eyvazova and Treasurer Shirin Asgerova was postponed for indefinite period, Binagadi Court told APA. During the last trial, court addressed to the Ministry of Taxes with the survey and asked to give information about tax debts of the university. During the court investigation the accused declared that the university did not have any debts. The ministry has not answered the survey yet and that is why the trial was not held yet. According to the information, all the witnesses were interrogated. The trial is expected to be over after the ministry answers the survey. The ministry told APA that they have received the survey and are working on the answer. The ministry did not announce the amount of debts as it was commercial secret.
It should be noted that a criminal case was launched on article 213.4 (evasion of tax), 308.1 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code against those persons and sent to court for consideration. The court is presided over by Judge Ahmed Sariyev. /APA/
