Azerbaijan expected to win Istanbul Shopping Festival next month â€“ <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku to host event on Istanbul Shopping Festival-2012

Istanbul. Mahbuba Gasimbeyli â€“ APA. â€œWe expect for Azerbaijanâ€™s victory in the Istanbul Shopping Festival which will be held next monthâ€, said co-chair of Executive Committee of the Istanbul Shopping Festival-2012 Hakan Kodal at the event held for the foreign journalists in Istanbul, APA reports.

Kodal said they are expected to welcome Azerbaijani citizens in this grandiose festival: â€œWe want to see our Azerbaijani friends here. Last year Azerbaijan took the second place among the trading countries. We think that Azerbaijan will take the first place this timeâ€.

Kodal said that Iran took the first place, Azerbaijan â€“ the 2nd place, Russia â€“ the 3rd place and Turkey â€“ the 4th place on trade in festival last year.

Director General of the Shopping Festival Fusun Sonmez announced that an event on festival would be held in Baku on May 15. This event aims to present the festival in Baku. She said they would hold a press conference in Baku. Azerbaijanâ€™s Eurovision-2011 winner Nigar Jamal will also participate in the event.

The Istanbul Shopping Festival is organized for the second time. First festival was held last year and continued for 40 days. This year the festival will be held on June 9-29. The most famous brands of the world and Turkey will be presented to the buyers at 50% discount in the festival which will cover Istanbulâ€™s biggest trade centers and shops.

The festivalâ€™s major sponsor Turkish Airlines Company organized the meeting of Istanbul Shopping Festival-2012 top officials and foreign journalists. Well-known trade centers and shops situated in Taksim, Nishantasi, Shishli, Bakirkoy, Fatih, Bahariye and Bagdad Caddesi places of Istanbul will host many famous brands during the festival which will be held under the auspices of Turkish ministries of tourism and culture, development, Istanbulâ€™s Governor Office and Buyukshehir Municipality.
