Azerbaijan Joins to Trans-Asia Railway Network

Azerbaijan, Armenia, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Laos, Mongolia, Nepal, Korea, Russia, Shri-Lanka, Tajikistan, Thailand, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Vietnam signed the document, DPR Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Georgia, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan and Turkmenistan will join the project soon.
It should be noted that, the Trans-Asian Railway Network will have four sections under the first agreement pinning down a project four decades in the making. It will be divided into a Northern Corridor, Southern Corridor, Indo-China and ASEAN Corridor, and the North-South Corridor. The northern route spans the Korean Peninsula, Russia, China, Mongolia and Kazakhstan while the southern corridor runs from southern China via Burma, India, and Iran to Turkey. The North-South Corridor connects the upper and lower regions of Russia, Central Asia, and Persia, and the ASEAN Corridor will bridge member nations and Indo-China. The South-East will connect Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippine, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
Musa Panahov the deputy Transport Minister told the APA that the realization of the decision on the founding Trans-Asia Railway network is not possible at the moment.
“Azerbaijan will not any have partnership with Armenia until peace treaty signed. The foundation of the railway is not possible without participation of Azerbaijan,� he said. /APA/
