The State Committee told APA that the visit aims at discussing bilateral religious relations between Azerbaijan and Iran, solving the current problems and improving the prospective development of national and moral values and cultural relations. During the visit, several high-level meetings are expected to be held with the new government of Iran.
Iskandarov will meet with Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Ali Jannati, Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Mohammad Bagher Khoramshad, including other officials.
The State Committee chairman also plans to meet with Azerbaijani students receiving religious education in Qom city of Iran and discuss a number of projects with relevant structures for development of bilateral relations.
