APA reports that amendments to the Criminal Code’s article #167-2 have been discussed at today’s meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament.
Ali Huseynli, chairman of the parliament’s Committee on legal policy and state building, informed about the draft law. According to the amendments made to article #167-2, AZN 5000 - 7000 fine or 2-year imprisonment is envisaged for production, import, distribution or sale of religious books, audio and video materials, products without the relevant permission.
If such acts are committed by a group of people of organized group conspiring in advance, by an official abusing his power, they will be punished AZN 7000 - 9000 or sentenced to 2-5 years in prison.
The draft law has been approved through voting.
