Baku. Ramiz Mikayıloglu – APA. Blood donation campaign is underway in Tezepir mosque on the occasion of Ashura day under the fatwa issued by the Cadi Council of the Caucasian Muslims Board, APA reports.
Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Board Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazadeh, deputy chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Board, rector of Islamic University Haji Sabir Hasanli and akhunds of Tezepir mosque donated blood at 11.00.
Allahshukur Pashazadeh offered condolences to the Muslims all over the world.
“Let Karbala martyrs, all our martyrs rest in peace. We pray for the liberation of Karabakh. After the independence was gained, Ashura ceremonies are held more properly. Our scientists appealed regarding the people beating themselves with chains. This is not in line with Islam, a man should not flagellate himself. I have never beaten myself with chains. We should donate blood to the people needing it. I would like Muslims to donate blood not only on Ashura Day, but also on other days. Imam Hussein would have done so. Some claim Imam Hussein is Shiite. Imam Hussein is Muslim, he is neither Shiite, nor Sunnite,” he said.
Allahshukur Pashazadeh called on all people to unity.
