He said that any mosque letting political entities use them for election campaign and its akhund will be severely punished. Sheikh said that political entities’ creating political campaign in mosques for themselves under the pretext of fast-breaking meals is unacceptable: “Sometimes mosques are addressed by the persons for hosting fast-breaking meals. Sometimes, their purpose is not to host fast-breaking meals. They use it to earn dividends. They use for gathering other sects, political leaders and conduct propaganda. Therefore, the list of such persons should be made beforehand. Otherwise, fast-breaking meals evolve into propaganda. This year is an election year and we should be careful with such people. We are not against the participation of believers in the elections, but the use of religion in the election campaign is unacceptable. Our religion is separated from the state. Our job is to worship, offer prayers.”
