The amount of Shah Deniz gas Georgia is importing should be increased, US Deputy-Secretary of Energy Jeffrey Clay Sell told APA correspondent after meeting Georgian Parliament speaker Nino Burjanadze.
He said this move will help strengthen the energy security of the region, adding that the Government of Georgia seeks to import more Azeri gas.
The Deputy-Secretary noted that Georgia is an important player in the region and will become an electricity exporter because of its hydro-energy potential.
Clay Sell met with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili in the second half of the day. /APA-Economics/
