Trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan totaled $570 million in January-May of this year, stated in the preliminary data from the National Statistics Office of Georgia, APA's local bureau reports.
The figure increased by 9% compared to the same period last year.
During the reporting period, Azerbaijan ranked fifth among Georgia’s largest trading partners after Türkiye, Russia, China, and the United States, accounting for 5.5% of the country’s total trade turnover.
Georgia exported goods worth $269.2 million to Azerbaijan, which was 4.6% less than in the same period last year. With an 8.7% share, Azerbaijan ranked third among Georgia’s main export destinations, following Kyrgyzstan and China.
Meanwhile, the value of goods imported by Georgia from Azerbaijan increased by 24.5% year-on-year to $300.5 million. Azerbaijan ranked sixth among Georgia’s key import partners, after Türkiye, Russia, China, the United States, and Germany, with a 4.1% share.
In the first five months of the year, Georgia’s total foreign trade turnover amounted to $10.44 billion, including $3.11 billion in exports and $7.33 billion in imports.
