Azerbaijan and the Union of the Comoros discuss bilateral relations

On June 19, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting with Mr. Moussa Abderemane, Minister of Finance, Budget and Banking Sector of the Union of the Comoros, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.

The meeting discussed prospects for the development of the existing friendly and cooperative relations between Azerbaijan and the Union of the Comoros. The parties particularly emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation within international organizations and platforms.

The active role of Azerbaijan within international organizations, including the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other multilateral platforms was highlighted, and the importance of mutual support and solidarity was noted. In particular, opportunities for expanding cooperation within the framework of the OIC Summit to be held in 2027 were discussed.

The parties also noted the importance of further strengthening developing ties within the framework of South-South cooperation. Azerbaijan’s efforts to promote cooperation with least developed countries within this platform were highly appreciated.
