The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has very good cooperation with Azerbaijan, Xiaohong Yang, Director General of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), said in a statement to APA-Economics.
"Last year, our president signed a joint declaration with the Azerbaijani government. Currently, we are mainly working in the transport sector. Our key areas are railways, the Green Line of the Baku Metro, and ADY's circular railway projects," she noted.
According to her, plans are underway to expand cooperation between the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and Azerbaijan in maritime transport as well as the aviation sector in the future.
"We are also working very actively with the Port of Baku and plan to expand cooperation in maritime transport and the aviation sector in the future. In addition, we are cooperating in the energy sector, including on green energy corridors across the Caspian Sea.
Overall, cooperation with Azerbaijan is very promising, and we expect to continue this long-term partnership here."
"I would also like to note that last week we signed a $180 million depot project for Baku. We are currently working on an additional project related to the Baku Metro worth approximately $700 million. Cooperation with ADY is also continuing. Overall, many new projects are expected in both the public and private sectors," Xiaohong Yang added.
