Baku. Sevil Zeynalgizi – APA. “We are concerned about the ticket sale report because it mentioned the name of Azerbaijan and it is very unpleasant case for our country. I can confirm that no one from the official delegation was engaged in this business”, spokeswoman for the Ministry of Youth and Sport Samaya Mammadov told APA from London.

She said there were limited amount of the tickets distributing among the official delegation to watch the tournaments. “The number of tickets doesn’t allow anyone to sell it and every one of the delegation here knows well that ticket sale is illegal case and can cause some problems. About 50 persons were in the official delegation during the opening ceremony, but we received only 19 tickets. After intensive efforts we can increase f the number of tickets. No one from our official delegation deals with it”.

Samaya Mammadova said that Olympics ticket sale was conducted online. “May be someone bought a ticket online and went to watch the competitions, but while seeing that a sportsman lost the game, didn’t want to stay there more and sold ticket. In any case, we are investigating the identity of that person and the reasons forcing him to sell the ticket. I can confirm that this person is not a member of the official delegation”.

Mammadova said that there were attempts to make show and target of laughingstock on social networks. “It should be taken into consideration that we are Azerbaijanis first of all. Those, who ridicule this issue on social networks, are the people disliking Azerbaijan and are not happy for the country’s achievements. It is an unpleasant case to behave in such manner instead of supporting Azerbaijan”.

British Sky News reported that members of the Azerbaijani official delegation at the Olympic Games in London illegally sell the tickets of the Games. The television claims that their hidden camera filmed Azerbaijani officials selling Olympic ticket before the ExCel Center in London.
