Azerbaijan plays an important role in strengthening connections between North and South, as well as East and West, due to its geographical position, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Economic Affairs and Innovative Development Policy Department of the Presidential Administration, Shahmar Movsumov, said during a panel discussion on the Middle Corridor held within the framework of the XIII Baku Global Forum, APA reports.
He noted that Azerbaijan is investing in regional corridors: “With the visionary policy of President Ilham Aliyev, our country is developing regional corridors. Corridors are important not only for cargo transportation but also for energy and digital connectivity.”
Shahmar Movsumov also stated that Azerbaijan exports natural gas to 16 countries through the Southern Gas Corridor, TAP, and TANAP.
The presidential assistant also spoke about other cooperation projects implemented by Azerbaijan and drew attention to Baku’s contribution to the diversification of the Middle Corridor.
