Land plots have been allocated for the construction of 24 metro stations in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
This was reflected in the “Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025,” which was discussed at today’s session of the Milli Majlis.
It was noted that within the implementation of the “State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas for 2025–2030,” 30 new metro cars were delivered to the Baku Metro last year, 20 of which have already been put into operation.
Land plots have also been allocated for the construction of 24 stations, 3 electric depots, and 16 ventilation shafts. In order to improve the reliability of the metro’s energy system, diagnostics of the traction power network of the Red and Green lines were carried out under a contract signed with the Russian University of Transport.
In addition, the project to separate the Green and Red lines at the “28 May” station using two temporary shafts to be constructed has been designed and land plots have been allocated for its construction. An expert opinion has been obtained on the report of geological exploration works carried out in connection with the construction of a transition chamber at the “Icherisheher” station, and work has begun on the relocation of underground communication lines.
