"The Middle Corridor has taken place, but it does not have an intergovernmental agreement, a legal and institutional basis. This is a very important element," said Kazakh Transport Minister Nurlan Sauranbayev during his speech at the panel titled "Middle Corridor: From Reliability to Efficiency" held within the framework of the V Tbilisi Silk Way Forum, APA's local bureau reports.
According to him, cargo shippers want guaranteed tariffs, while those investing in infrastructure are interested in how guaranteed cargo flows are.
"These issues should be resolved within the framework of an intergovernmental agreement. There is a need for the participating countries to jointly prepare a document," N. Sauranbayev said.
The minister expressed Kazakhstan's interest in the development of the Middle Corridor and its readiness to mobilize all its efforts in this direction.
