Deputy PM outlines reconstruction progress in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories

More than 75,000 people live, study, and work in the liberated territories, Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev said, APA reports.

“Currently, large-scale reconstruction is underway in the liberated territories, life is being revitalized, modern infrastructure and social facilities are being established, and conditions for sustainable development are being created,” Shahin Mustafayev said during his speech at the 24th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia held in Zangilan.

He noted that within the framework of implemented projects, more than 1,400 kilometers of highways and over 120 kilometers of railway lines have been built in the liberated territories: “In addition, the construction of 7 tunnels has been fully completed, drilling work has been finalized in another 31 tunnels, and 392 bridges have been built.”

The Deputy Prime Minister added that three international airports have already been commissioned, while residential areas, villages, schools, and hospitals are being actively constructed: “At the same time, modern energy, water supply, communication, and other essential infrastructure facilities are being created, forming the foundation for the region’s sustainable socio-economic development.”
