A delegation led by Shahin Babayev, Executive Director of Azerbaijan Transport and Communication Holding (AZCON), held a meeting with a delegation led by Mohammed Hassan AlSuwaidi, Excellency Mohamed Hassan Alsuwaidi is the UAE Minister of Investment and Managing Director & Group Chief Executive Officer of ADQ, AZCON told APA-Economics.
During the meeting, the parties considered the prospects for cooperation in the infrastructure, transport, and communication sectors. Particular attention was paid to initiatives aimed at forming a stronger investment ecosystem that enhances market interconnectivity and supports sustainable development. The discussions focused on identifying areas that could increase efficiency within joint projects and create long-term value for both parties.
The parties noted that the contract signed in September between AZCON and Abu Dhabi Ports Group (AD Ports Group), part of Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company, for the construction of two 780 TEU container ships will make a significant contribution to the development of the Middle Corridor. It was also highlighted that this project represents the first international commercial shipbuilding order for the Baku Shipyard.
Within the framework of the visit, the delegation familiarized itself with AD Ports Group’s digital solutions in port management and toured the Khalifa port and other port facilities.
Later, the parties exchanged views on cooperation opportunities in the fields of postal services, maritime freight, transport, and logistics.
