Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva - APA-Economics. An international consulting firm Booz Allen Hamilton is developing a new draft of the proposed high-speed data backbone project that will link he East and West, said Ali Abbasov, the Minister of Communications and Information Technologies.
According to him, the company undertook to prepare a draft within three months and the draft will be presented at a ministerial meeting to be held as part of the Bakutel Exhibition-Conference in Baku on November 11-14.
He expects that ministers and senior officials from more than 20 countries will approve the project at the meeting.
The data backbone that will embrace 15 to 20 countries from Central Asia to China is seen as a key initiative to do away with the digital abyss between the West and the East.
