Ali Abbasov, Minister of Communications and Information Technologies, said preparations for the launch of the joint project and allocation of preferential loans by the Government of Azerbaijan will be completed by the end of this year.
“This project will have several advantages, above all in terms of the prices of processors and software. This will help make computers more attractive for customers. Besides, one more point is that state-of-the-art computers will be offered on preferential credit,” he underlined.
According to him, the project will triple the country’s computer market within three years.
He said the number of computers per 100 people will exceed 20 in three years from 6-7 at present.
Local experts say Azerbaijan’s annual market of desktop, laptop and servers is close to 100 000.
