Cargo and passenger transportations in Azerbaijan segment of TRACECA corridor increase by 9% and 8%

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. In January-July, 2010, 29.4 mln tons of cargo and 116.5 mln passenger were transported through Azerbaijan via Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA).

State Statistical Committee says the cargo transportation rose 8.6%, passenger transportation 7.9% compared with a year ago.

40.2% of cargo was transported via railway, 43.1% via automobile, 16.7% via sea transport.

Transportation income made AZN 181.2 mln during the same period. Of this, 42.1% came from railway, 22.6% from sea and 35.3% from automobile.
