Intel buys McAfee company

Baku - APA-Economics. On Thursday Intel disclosed it plans concerning purchase of security vendor McAfee. The deal is valued at about $7.68 billion. With the help of this purchase Intel will be able to enhance its chip mobile strategy, Latest Gadgets reported.

The deal was approved by both boards of directors. Moreover, it is expected that McAfee will become a subsidiary within Software and Services Group of Intel. It should be mentioned that McAfee creates different security software for enterprises as well as end-users, such as firewalls, antivirus applications, and also intrusion protection systems.

The deal will be closed after it will be approved by McAfee shareholder. According to Intel, the acquisition will slightly influence on the companyâ€™s earnings in the first year of operations.
Due to the acquisition Intel gets a range of security technologies, including data loss prevention, encryption, as well as Web messaging. McAfee offers a large network of security business. Moreover, the companyâ€™s engineers will get access to manufacturing processes, chip designs as well as advanced engineering of Intel.
Intel paid the premium price for MacAfee which means that there was a bidding war. But who knows.
