Shahdagh summer and winter sports and tourist complex to spend â‚¬2 billion

BakÄ±. UlkÉ™r GasÄ±mova - APA. In total â‚¬2 billion will be spent on the construction of Shahdag summer&winter sports and tourist complex in Azerbaijanâ€™s northern region of Gusar, said Abulfaz Garayev, Minister of Culture and Tourism.

According to him, 25 percent of the funds will be provided by the government, and 75 percent by the private sector.

"That is, the government will spend about AZN 400 million on this project. This will go to preliminary works and construction of a hotel accommodating 300-400 people,â€ he added.

In his words, the complex will be capable of receiving 5000 people. The complex will be designed by an Austrian-Swiss joint venture.

â€œWe also plan to use the experience the Turkish holiday complex Uludag. The gas network will be set up by Azento, electricity system will be designed by Design Institute of Azerbaijan State Energy Company, water and sanitation system will be established by Azersu. They have been awarded contracts to perform these activities. The complex will be built within 3-4 years,â€ he added.
Abulfaz Garayev said that the Azerbaijan Tourism Institute has already begun to prepare students for work at Shahdag Complex.
