Baku hosts a workshop on Biometric Identification System: Current Situation, Challenges and Solutions

Baku. Aynur Veliyeva - APA-ECONOMICS. The Institute of Information Technology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences has today hosted a workshop on Biometric Identification System: Current Situation, Challenges and Solutions.

The event was attended by representatives of the German MÃ¼hlbauer AG and state structures of Azerbaijan.

Rasim Aliguliyev, Director of the Institute for Information Technology, said the presence of a representative from MÃ¼hlbauer AG aims to make a presentation of the company to the relevant structures of Azerbaijan.

According to him, prior to the announcement of the tender for the issuance of biometric passports, it is necessary to examine the experiences of such companies.

MÃ¼hlbauer AG has extensive experience in the field of international standards for new generation identification cards, he added.

Then, reports were heard from representatives of the ministry of communications and information technologies and companies specialised in modern IT solutions.
