The opening ceremony was also attended by Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev who also acquainted himself with the construction of a 544 m long, 23 m wide and 21 m high bridge in Devechi area.
The bridge which has 16 passes and 3-storey support system will be the longest and highest one in Azerbaijan. The bridge rests on 30 piles embedded at a depth of 22 meters.
It is earthquake-resistant and equipped with system protection against mudflows.
