Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA-ECONOMICS. As opposed to a month earlier, prices of construction materials went up by 2.7% on average in Baku during August 2009, said the Property Market Participants.

According to the survey, prices of several materials, especially sand, gravel, and other solid stuff increased because a government decision limited carrying excessive load on trucks.

Given that a KamAZ heavy truck had carried 12-13 cubic meters of gravel before the decision took effect, this figure is 8-9 cubic meters now.

Price index decreased by 2.7 points to 97.2 points.

However, prices were 4.4% down from early this year and 41.8% down from a year ago.

According to surveys of 91 types of construction materials, there was a decline in prices of 17 products, steady prices in 60 products and an increase in the prices of only 14 products.
