Necessary and urgent measures aimed at completely extinguishing the fire that broke out at a warehouse located in the Lokbatan settlement of Baku’s Garadagh district are continuing, the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations told APA.

It was reported that, so far, helicopters have carried out 60 water drops and used 150 tons of water.

Firefighting operations are ongoing.

A major fire erupted at one of the warehouses belonging to “Baku Logistics” in the Lokbatan settlement of Baku’s Garadagh district early Tuesday morning.

According to information obtained by APA, numerous firefighting vehicles and emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene shortly after the incident was reorted.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations said its “112” hotline received information about the fire at 06:38 local time. Firefighting units of the State Fire Protection Service were immediately deployed to the area, and efforts to contain the blaze are ongoing.

APA’s correspondent at the scene reported that firefighters continue battling the fire, while a helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations has also been involved in extinguishing operations.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that police officers were promptly sent to the site following the outbreak of the fire. Authorities are taking necessary operational measures to ensure the safe evacuation of citizens and to allow emergency and rescue teams to operate without obstruction.

Preliminary information indicates that there have been no reported deaths or injuries as a result of the incident.
