Measures to ensure the reliable protection of the state border and combat smuggling and the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors are being successfully continued, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
It was reported that an attempt to smuggle a total of 111 kilograms 200 grams of narcotic drugs from the Islamic Republic of Iran into the Republic of Azerbaijan was prevented in the service area of the “Horadiz” border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service.
As a result of border search and operational measures, 57 kilograms 500 grams of narcotic drugs, which were attempted to be transported across the state border into the country by means of an aircraft on September 22, and 53 kilograms 700 grams on September 24 were discovered and removed from illegal circulation.
Operational and investigative measures into the facts are ongoing.
