A man armed with a shovel attacked people at a church in Moscow, APA’s Russia bureau reports.
The incident occurred in Moscow’s Maryino district.
A man holding a shovel attacked people leaving the church and then struck an ambulance worker who responded to the call on the head with the shovel.
The ambulance worker was hospitalized in serious condition. The attacker was shot dead with a firearm by a person who had come to the church.
The armed person was detained by the police.
According to preliminary information, the person who attacked people with the shovel had been registered at a psychiatric clinic.
