As a result of an appeal by the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan to the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, the submission of the required documents in accordance with international procedures and negotiations held between the sides, an agreement has been reached on the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Seymur Salah oglu Salahzade to Azerbaijan, the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.
Seymur Salahzade is suspected of committing large-scale fraud in a criminal case investigated by the Main Investigation and Inquiry Department of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
A relevant decision was made to prosecute him, and he was placed on the international wanted list through Interpol’s National Central Bureau after evading the investigation and going into hiding.
As a result of measures taken, his whereabouts were established in Ukraine and he was detained.
Relevant measures are currently being taken to bring Seymur Salahzade to Azerbaijan.
The Prosecutor General’s Office will continue its cooperation with the relevant authorities of foreign countries, including Interpol, to locate wanted persons and bring them to Azerbaijan.
