A person on the international wanted list has been extradited from Montenegro to Azerbaijan, Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan said in a statement, APA reports.
In accordance with the requirements of the European Convention on Extradition (1957) dated December 13, 1957, the petition of the Prosecutor General’s Office regarding the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Ramil Mansimov has been granted by the competent authorities of Montenegro.
Since reasonable suspicions were established that Ramil Mansimov had committed the crime of embezzlement, a decision was made to charge him as an accused person. As he evaded the investigation and went into hiding, he was declared internationally wanted.
Relevant measures are being taken to bring R. Mansimov to Azerbaijan.
The Prosecutor General’s Office continues to carry out the necessary operational and investigative measures to determine the whereabouts of other persons wanted in connection with the criminal case and to ensure their transfer to Azerbaijan.
