Person internationally wanted for theft being extradited from Russia to Azerbaijan

In accordance with the requirements of the Convention on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Matters dated October 7, 2002, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation has granted the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan for the extradition of Azerbaijani citizen Adil Allahverdi oglu Damirov, the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.

As part of a criminal case under preliminary investigation by the Imishli District Police Department, reasonable suspicion was established that Adil Damirov had committed an offense under Article 177.3.2 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan (theft causing large-scale damage).

A decision was made to charge him as an accused person, and he was placed on the international wanted list after fleeing and evading the investigation.

The Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice is currently taking appropriate measures in accordance with international procedures to bring him to Azerbaijan.
