Lawyer Nemar Karimli told APA that addressing the court, the defense filed the petitions on commutation of Yagublu's imprisonment to house arrest and partial reopening of judicial investigation. The judge has sustained the petition on partial reopening of judicial investigation. A court hearing has been scheduled for February 21.
Nigar Yagublu was detained on September 11, 2012. She was sentenced to pre-trial detention over the car accident that killed member of Musavat Party Aydin Ajalov.
Nigar Yagublu was sentenced to two years and six months in penal colony, under the judgment passed by Asbheron District Court. She has been deprived of the right to drive a vehicle for two years.
