A landmine explosion occurred on March 12 in the village of Ashaghi Veysalli in Azerbaijan’s Khojavand district, according to a joint statement issued by the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), APA reports.
The statement said that Hajiyev Ramiz Mashallah oghlu, a resident of the Aghdam district, born in 1968, was killed after his horse stepped on an anti-tank landmine while grazing cattle in an area not cleared of mines on the former line of contact. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
ANAMA, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Prosecutor General’s Office once again urged citizens to follow safety regulations, heed mine-warning signs, and avoid unfamiliar or potentially dangerous areas.

A shepherd has died after his horse fell into a mine in Fuzuli, APA's Karabakh bureau reports.
The incident was recorded in the liberated Ashagi Veysalli village of the region.
Thus, Hajiyev Ramil Mashallah, a resident of Aghdam region, born in 1968, lost his life as a result of a mine incident.
ANAMA specialists who were called to the scene of the incident took the body of the deceased and handed it over to the relevant authorities.
An investigation into the incident is underway.
