A person who attempted to smuggle narcotic drugs into the country has been detained, the Press Center of the State Border Service told APA.
Measures to ensure reliable protection of the state border and combat smuggling and the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their precursors are being successfully continued.
As a result of operational and military measures carried out in the service area of the Horadiz border detachment of the Border Troops of the State Border Service, Iranian citizen Huseyn Novruz Aghapur, born in 1975, was detained while attempting to smuggle into the Republic of Azerbaijan 7 kilograms 490 grams of marijuana and 1,810 Methadone M-40 tablets containing psychotropic substances.
Operational and investigative measures into the case are ongoing.
