Ministry of Justice continues to conduct effective cooperation measures with relevant agencies of foreign countries to arrest and bring to our country individuals who are internationally wanted and accused of committing crimes, press service of the Ministry of Justice told APA.
It was reported that another individual who was internationally wanted by the National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan and whose location was determined in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was extradited to Azerbaijan by the Ministry on June 4.
Thus, since 2022, a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Babayev Polad Murad, who was accused of deceiving a group of citizens under the pretext of assigning them a disability pension or hiring them, abusing the trust of citizens, and receiving money from them for the aforementioned purpose, causing large amounts of material damage to the victims (Articles 178.2.1 and 178.2.4 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan), was located in the UAE and arrested.
After the presentation of the required documents in accordance with international procedures, as well as negotiations, an agreement was reached on the extradition of the person to Azerbaijan. This once again confirms the international prestige of our state and the fact that the UAE is a reliable partner for our country.
