In the Marneuli region of Georgia, where Azerbaijanis live in a compact population, individuals named N.A., born in 2004, and S.B., born in 2000, were detained on charges of illegal deprivation of liberty, APA's local bureau reports, citing the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The investigation revealed that a person named N.A. kidnapped a girl named U.K., born in 2006, from one of the villages of the Marneuli region with the intention of marrying her.
A person named S.B. participated in the aforementioned criminal act.
Law enforcement officers detained both accused shortly after the crime was committed.
Investigative measures are continuing regarding the fact.
The detained young people face up to 4 years in prison if their guilt is proven.
