Azerbaijani citizens A.Z., born in 1998, and E.F., born in 1999, have been detained in Batumi, Georgia, on charges of assisting in the illegal purchase, possession, and sale of large quantities of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by a group of individuals, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia told APA’s local bureau.
A particularly large quantity of various narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances prepared for sale was seized from the suspects, their temporary residences, and other locations during an investigative experiment. The seized substances include cocaine, dried marijuana, methamphetamine, and tablets of Lyrica and pregabalin. Police also confiscated materials necessary for packaging narcotics.
An investigation into the case is ongoing. The crime carries a penalty of up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
