The final court hearing has been held at the State Security Service (SSS) in the criminal case against Ilkin Ganbarov, Vusal Aghayev, Tural Aliyev, and Mammad Sharifov, who are accused of high treason against the state, APA reports.
The verdict was announced during the hearing held at the Baku Military Court, chaired by Judge Bilal Mammadov.
According to the verdict, Ilkin Ganbarov and Vusal Aghayev were sentenced to 18 years in prison, while Tural Aliyev and Mammad Sharifov were sentenced to 17 years and 6 months of imprisonment.
Note that Ilkin Ganbarov and Vusal Aghayev, who are accused of committing treason in the form of espionage by assisting representatives of a foreign intelligence service, were detained and brought to the investigation as a result of measures carried out by the State Security Service. During the measures continued by the State Security Service (SSS), Tural Aliyev was apprehended in the territory of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and Mammad Sharifov was apprehended in the territory of the Republic of Türkiye and brought to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The accused individuals have been charged under Article 274 (treason against the state) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
