As a result of anti-smuggling operations carried out last month, contraband worth a total of 6,570,790 manats was detected and seized, including an air pistol (together with its magazine), medicines, and tobacco products, APA reports.
This was stated in the January 2026 overview of the State Border Service.
It was also noted that in two cases, attempts to bring drugs into the country using unmanned aerial vehicles were prevented. As a result of measures taken to combat illegal drug trafficking, 120 kilograms and 645 grams of narcotic substances were detected and removed from circulation.
