Ministry of Emergency Situations holds event dedicated to 20th anniversary of restoration of state independence of Azerbaijan

Minister of Emergency Situations Kemaleddin Heydarov said the state independence is a wealth of Azerbaijani people and the independence has exclusive importance for every citizen of Azerbaijan. Heydarov spoke about the socio-political events happened in the country early 1990s, the role of Heydar Aliyev in securing and strengthening of independence and in the national state-building process. Minister said Azerbaijan faced foreign and domestic pressure, treacherous plots in early years of the independence and was saved and entered the new period of development just in 1993, after Heydar Aliyevâ€™s return to power.

Minister emphasized that independent Azerbaijan achieved new successes and developing rapidly became a leading country in the region. By the corresponding order issued by President Ilham Aliyev, the Ministry of Emergency Situations was established in 2005 and due to special attention by the Head of State, serious development was achieved in this sphere, serious measures were taken for protection of the population from the emergency situations, the ministry was comprehensively supplied with all material and technical equipments.

MP Siyavush Novruzov said Heydar Aliyev established powerful state and formed strong basis for its socio-economic development, ensuring the development of Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign policy and relations with the leading countries and international organizations on the basis of the national interests and far-sighted political prospects.

At the end of the ceremony, the participants of the event addressed Supreme Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev.
