TV set brought to Haji Mammadovâ€™s prison ward

Baku. Shahriyar Alizadeh â€“ APA. Chairman of Azerbaijan Anti-Torture Committee Elchin Behbudov and another human right activist Elchin Shirinov conducted monitoring in the detention facility of the Ministry of Natural Security (MNS).

Elchin Behbudov told APA that they met with two Iranian citizens in the detention facility: â€œThey are accused of drug sale and trafficking. Both of them were ensured with lawyer. The investigation is underway now. They had no complaints in arrangements for the custody and treatment against themâ€.

The Committee Chairman also said that they took interest in Haji Mammadov, former officer of Interior Ministryâ€™s Department to Combat Crimes: â€œHaji Mammadov, as well as the other persons are ensured every week with 5 kg provisions brought from their home. Every week they had a telephone conversation with their family members. The TV set was brought to Mammadovâ€™s prison ward. He can watch TV in the different times of the dayâ€.
Behbudov also noted that Mammadov made figures from beads: â€œHe doesnâ€™t draw anymore. Now he makes figures from beadsâ€.
