Interior Ministry: 1286 wanted persons were detained by law-enforcement bodies in Azerbaijan within 8 months of this year

The whereabouts of 54 persons wanted through National Central Bureau of Interpol, 25 wanted by Interpol member states were determined, deputy chief of Main Crime-Search Department of Interior Ministry, Colonel Arzu Dashdemirov said at the board meeting, APA reports. Deputy chief said expedient work had been done due to the use of new working methods and modern information technologies. Thousands of questionnaires about criminals were answered, hundreds of wanted persons were found. It was said that one of the tasks of the law-enforcement bodies is to organize search of the missing persons. The whereabouts of 58.9 percent of the missing persons searched within 8 months were determined, the number of the missing persons reduced by 4.3 percent compared to the reporting period of last year. One of the major tasks is to identify the bodies with traces of violence on them. Seven bodies were identified during the reporting period.
