Baku hosts 14th meeting of the Intelligence Agencies Conference of the Turkic-speaking countries - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Public relations center of the National Security Ministry told APA that the delegations of intelligence agencies of Azerbaijan, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan participated at the meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to strengthen and broaden the cooperation with the other intelligence agencies towards the prevention of general threat directed against security and stability, primarily the prevention of expansion of terrorism and extremism in the world and region. High ranking officials of intelligence agencies of Georgia, Ukraine and Russia were represented at the meeting as observers.

The event participants and Lieutenant General Eldar Mahmudov as well as the leadership of National Security Ministry visited the graves of Heydar Aliyev and academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor and the Alley of Martyrs.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received the leaders of the delegations participating in the meeting.

The meeting which started in the Cultural Center of the Ministry of National Security was opened by a keynote speech of Lieutenant General Eldar Mahmudov. Then Director of the Department on Law-Enforcement Bodies of the Presidential Executive Office Fuad Alasgarov underlined that the issues, which will be discussed, will be effective and give concrete results and wished successes to the meetingâ€™s work.

Then in his speech, Minister Eldar Mahmudov highly assessed the cooperation developed between security and intelligence agencies of Turkic-speaking countries. Minister said that the 14th meeting of the Conference would positively influence to the joint activity in the cooperation sphere.

In his speech, Turkeyâ€™s National Intelligence Organization Chief Hakan Fidan spoke about cooperation perspectives of intelligence agencies in the field of increase of efficiency of combating the terrorism and other transnational crimes. Chief of National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, Major General Nurtay Abikayev noted the measures taken against radicalization process which contribute to the terrorism and underlined the significance of strengthening the cooperation in the struggle against every type of extremist manifestations.

The document on results of 14th meeting of the Intelligence Agencies Conference of the Turkic-speaking countries was signed at the end of the meeting. The next meeting of the conference will be held in Kazakhstan next year.
