Prosecutor wanted to sentence Etimad Ismayilov to 10 years in prison

During the trial held at Chelyabinsk city court public prosecutor demanded to sentence Etimad Ismayilov to 10 years in general regime colony, Vladimir Guzov – 8 years, Abbas Jafarov – 6, Vladimir Shvadchenko – 3 years of conditional sentence. Filichkin said that defensive sides will make speeches tomorrow: “Defensive side thinks that the prosecutor wanted very heavy punishment”.

Note that, according to the Russian criminal code, Ismayilov is accused in money laundering and swindle. He is an owner of the Eurasian Industrial-Financial Group Ltd. A company controlled by Chelyabinsk Governor indebted one million dollar to Ismayilov’s company. The arbitration court issued a document confirming this fact. Ismayilov was detained on March 25, 2008 by Russian security forces at the Moscow’s Domodedovo airport on his arrival from Baku.

The related criminal case was launched in 2007. Alongside with Ismayilov, Ukrainian citizen, chief executive of the Russian grain company Vladimir Guzov, head of the broker group Abbas Jafarov and head of “Prodkorporasiya” Vladimir Svadchenko are also involved in this case.
