State Traffic Police Office tightens security under special instruction of Azerbaijani Interior Minister

Baku. Hafiz Heydarov – APA. State Traffic Police Office has tightened security under the special instruction of Interior Minister Ramil Usubov in connection with cold weather in Azerbaijan, the ministry’s press service told APA.

The ministry said the staff of Baku State Traffic Police Office has been mobilized to eliminate the problems on highways.

Over 30 drivers and passengers were rescued by the employees of State Traffic Police Office in Mushfigabad settlement of Baku-Shamakhy highway on the night of February 5-6.

40 more drivers and passengers were rescued by the employees of State Traffic Police Office and Ministry of Emergency Situations and placed in hospital and administrative building of Araz course.

The Ministry also said 11 trees fell down as a result of the snow storm in Baku. 8 of them fell on the cars. As a result of the measures taken by State Traffic Police Office, the roads were cleared and the traffic was restored. Under the instructions of Interior Ministry, measures are being taken to restore the traffic in Baku and highways of the country.
