Khagani Tagiyev presided over the hearing. Eyyub Karimov addressed the court. He did not admit his guilt and said he had not slandered.
“If with my punishment Haji Mammadov’s crimes will be concealed, then punish me,” he said.

Following this, Ramil Usubov’s lawyer Alirza Abilov addressed the court. The lawyer said he was sorry that Eyyub Karimov had not regretted.

He demanded 2-year correctional activities for Eyyub Karimov.

The court declared the judgment after the advisement. Eyyub Karimov was found guilty under article 147.2 and got 18-month suspended sentence.

Eyyub Karimov said he would file an appeal against the court decision.

The minister’s lawyer said they were not satisfied with the court decision either and would announce within 20 days whether they would file an appeal or not.

Interior Minister Ramil Usubov filed lawsuit against Ayyub Karimov under article 147.2 (slander by accusing of committing grave crimes) of the Criminal Code because of Karimov’s publications in the newspapers Azadlig and Femida 007.
