General Zaur Rzayev dies

General Rzayev died at night January 29 after long-term disease. Rzayev was the commander of first military unit of Azerbaijani Army. He was born in 1937 in Lankaran. Rzayev graduated from the Supreme Combined Arms Commanders School and served in different military units. He headed military chair at the Baku State University. He was appointed the commander of first military unit No 18110 of the Azerbaijani Army in the rank of colonel in October 1991. Rzayev was a corps commander and deputy defense minister of Azerbaijan.
