Chairmen of Constitutional and Supreme Courts of Azerbaijan met with Jean Paul Costa

Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubeyli - APA. Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev and his colleague at the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev are on a visit to Strasbourg. They will attend the annual meeting of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), APA correspondent reports from the Council of Europe.
Today Ferhad Abdullayev and Ramiz Rzayev have met with ECHR President Jean Paul Costa. Relations between ECHR and Azerbaijan were discussed at the meeting. ECHR will host a conference on opening of judicial year tomorrow, Chairman of Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev told APA: â€œI and Ferhad Abdullayev received invitation to this conference. Taking an opportunity, we met with ECHR President and exchanged views on relations between Azerbaijan and ECHR. Moreover, we spoke about the adoption of 14th protocol of the European Convention on Human Rightsâ€.

Rzayev noted that during the meeting with Jean Paul Costa they had discussions about the conference devoted to development and reforms of ECHR to be held on February 17-19 in Interlaken, Switzerland. The Chairman of Supreme Court stated that Azerbaijan also received an invitation to this meeting and delegation of Justice Ministry would attend the conference.
